Wanaka bathroom renovation: from ensuite to main bathroom

After completing this client's ensuite renovation in 2025, they asked us back in 2026 to take on their main bathroom. This time the brief was "green" , moody, earthy, with warmth rather than the blue and grey design we went for in the ensuite.

It's a small space, so every millimeter had to work hard. We built a half-wall to divide the shower from the vanity, which doubles as shelf space for the 900mm vanity and avoids an awkward gap between vanity and shower glass while still keeping the two zones feeling separate.

The walk-in shower is generous and open, not the cramped "aquarium" feel that small bathrooms often end up with. The standout is the Quantum Smeraldo tile — it took what could've been a neutral palette and gave it real character, tying the bathroom back into the rest of the home's design language.
